To avoid sales tax, please bring a written order or prescription from your M.D. (or Chiropractor or Dentist) for massage. It should NOT have a set number of visits. It can say something as simple as, "I recommend that this patient receive massage for stress reduction, as needed". Without a doctor's order, massage is subject to sales tax.
Therapeutic Massage - Therapeutic Massage helps to improve range of motion and heal injuries. Multiple techniques are used to relieve severe tension in the muscles and connective tissue.
Active Isolated Stretching – The Mattes AIS Technique is an effective treatment for deep and superficial fascial release, restoring proper fascial planes for optimal physiologic function. Performing an Active Isolated Stretch of no longer than 2.0 seconds allows the target muscle to optimally lengthen without triggering the protective stretch reflex and subsequent reciprocal antagonistic muscle contraction as the isolated muscle achieves a state of relaxation. These stretches provide maximum benefit and can be accomplished without opposing tension or resulting trauma.
Active Isolated Stretching is beneficial for reducing pain, stiffness, chronic musculoskeletal conditions, and limited range of motion.
Craniosacral Therapy (CST)– A gentle technique involving a light touch to work the cranial bones, the spinal column and the sacrum, CST releases tensions deep in the body to allow the entire body to relax and self-correct. This therapy engages and frees the nervous system, eliminating pain and stress. It strengthens resistance to disease and improves whole-body health.
CST has proven to aid in the alleviation of a range of illnesses pain and dysfunction including: Migraines and headaches, chronic neck and back pain, stress/tension related issues, chronic fatigue, emotional difficulties, TMJ Syndrome.
Dorn Method – This treatment is a holistic, effective, safe and non-manipulative therapy to correct misalignments in the spine and joints while educating the client to be an involved partner in his/her own recovery. The DORN Method addresses the correction of uneven leg length along with the resulting pelvic imbalance and potentially displaced spinal column.
Jin-shin Jyutsu® - Jin Shin Jyutsu® is an ancient art of harmonizing the life energy in the body. Our bodies contain several energy pathways that feed life into all of our cells. When one or more of these paths become blocked, this damming effect may lead to discomfort or even pain. This blockage or stagnation will not only disrupt the local area but will continue and eventually disharmonize the complete path or paths of the energy flow.
Through Jin Shin Jyutsu® our awareness is awakened to the simple fact that we are endowed with the ability to harmonize and balance ourselves (in rhythm with the universe) physically, mentally and spiritually.
Lymph Drainage Therapy (LDT) – With a very light touch along the lymphatic pathways, LDT encourages the circulation of lymph helping to move along stagnant fluid in the tissues of the body. This therapy promotes the healing of scars or injured tissue, stimulates the immune system, calms the body’s stress response and can be effective in dealing with some kinds of chronic pain.
Myofascial Release (MFR)– Myofascial Release is a form of bodywork that uses long, stretching strokes to rebalance the body. By releasing and unwinding the fascia that surrounds each muscle and interconnects all of the other internal parts of the body, relaxing contracted muscles, increasing circulation and lymphatic drainage, and stimulating the stretch reflex of muscles and overlying connective tissue, MFR can relieve pain and tension caused by injury or stress.
Neuromuscular Therapy (NMT)– Injury, trauma, postural distortion or stress cause nerves to speed up their transmission, inhibiting equilibrium and making the body vulnerable to pain and dysfunction. This technique involves the use of static pressure on specific points to relieve pain. With NMT, the muscles, tendons and connective tissue are manipulated, helping to balance the central nervous system and maintain normal function and overall health.
On-site seated massage - This option involves a portable chair designed to support the client in a relaxed, seated, forward leaning position. The therapist can treat the neck, shoulders, back – even arms and hands. Because the chair is portable, it is well suited for on-site stress reduction at the office or workplace. A customary visit involves 10-15 minute treatments for 4 or more people.
Pre-natal massage– Massage therapy during pregnancy is healthy and safe. It reduces stress, promotes relaxation, improves circulation, reduces muscle strain and pain, facilitates a variety of physical processes (hormonal, respiratory, gastrointestinal) and contributes to developing flexibility and body awareness. During this time of physical and emotional transformation, massage offers nurturing support catered to the individual mother-to-be. The client receives her treatment, in a well propped, side-lying position.
Sports massage– Exercise can leave your muscles feeling fatigued, stiff and sore. Massage therapy stretches and lengthens shortened muscles and reduces spasm. Its gentle kneading improves circulation which speeds up the removal of waste products that can make you sore, and brings in the oxygen and nutrients your muscles need to rejuvenate.
